DMCA Policy
Healthy Synonym respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) of 1998, the text of which may be found on the U.S. Copyright Office website at http://www.copyright.gov/legislation/dmca.pdf, Healthy Synonym will respond expeditiously to claims of copyright infringement committed using the Healthy Synonym service that are reported to Healthy Synonym's Designated Copyright Agent, identified in the sample notice below.
This policy describes the information that should be present in a DMCA notice, Healthy Synonym's actions upon receipt of a valid notice, and the options available to users whose content has been subject to a DMCA takedown.
Filing a DMCA Notice of Infringement
If you are a copyright owner, or are authorized to act on behalf of one, and you believe that your copyrighted work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement and is accessible via the Healthy Synonym website, please send a written DMCA notice to Healthy Synonym's Designated Copyright Agent with the following information:
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed: Provide a detailed description of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed, or if multiple copyrighted works are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works.
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing: Identify the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit Healthy Synonym to locate the material (e.g., the specific URL(s) on Healthy Synonym's site where the material can be found).
- Contact Information of the Complaining Party: Provide your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
- An electronic or physical signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright interest.

DMCA Counter-Notification
If you believe that your content that was removed or disabled is not infringing, or that you have the authorization from the copyright owner, the copyright owner's agent, or pursuant to the law, to post and use the material, you may send a counter-notification containing the following information to Healthy Synonym's Designated Copyright Agent:
- Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled: Provide the specific URL(s) at which the material appeared before it was removed or disabled.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or a misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled.
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located: If your address is outside of the United States, you consent to the jurisdiction of any judicial district in which Healthy Synonym may be found.
- A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original DMCA notification or an agent of such person.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, Healthy Synonym will forward it to the complaining party. Unless the copyright owner files an action seeking a court order against you, the removed content may be replaced or access to it restored in 10 to 14 business days after receipt of the counter-notification, at Healthy Synonym’s sole discretion.
